Hey everyone!
This is the little experiment I've been working on, keep in mind that everything's still a placeholder :P
(If you don't know what a "placeholder" is, it's something that's used in a game or, anywhere, that's not meant to be there in the final product and is used to get a general desired effect until the final components are available, which also means they will most likely be changed)
The game is pretty simple actually, you jump with SPACE or X, and you also use those to give yourself a mid-air boost (you have to pick those up).
Use UP, RIGHT and DOWN to give a free boost (which all have a cooldown) in that direction.
Get the hamburger for an awesome speed boost :P
There currently is no goal to the game other than to go as far as you can, comment your highest scores! :)
And thanks to everyone who helped out ^^
You can play the game below:

Same world, different view
This is something I wanted to talk about a for few weeks now and I'll explain what I mean by the title.
When I started learning how to program (and more specifically, a bit about game-making) I started looking at games in a completely different way, because I started looking at what actually happens, not what it feels like.
And that is what I'm going to talk about as well as give some examples, even if the experience some times might be a little different it doesn't necessarily make it worse, specially if you're not thinking about HOW the game was created :P
So let's get started

Where to start Programming/Game making?
This is a question that quite a few people have asked me already, and since I talked more about "why" than "how" to program I feel it is the right time to do this post. Also, since you'll probably need to know how to program before you make a game, I'll talk about it first.
Before I begin though, I just want to say a few things about it.
First, each person has a different learning method, I will mention a few but feel free to explore on your own whatever fits best for you.
And second, someone once said that the only way for anyone to learn anything is if the person wants to. Even the best masters in the whole world can't teach you 1 single thing if you do not want to.
So let's get started shall we?

Request a topic!
Hi, since I have been working with computers and etc for so long, many things now are intuitive to me and I almost get the feeling it's also something "everyone" knows... well, that's not true at all so that is why I made this short post just for YOU!
That's right, just comment here what topic you would like me to discuss! (You can even post anonymously if you're shy!)
It can be anything really... Programming, video games, hacking and web security, Life advice, how to greet a dog, how to make pizza dough etc.
And don't forget you can also subscribe your e-mail here so you get all new posts sent directly to you :)
So go ahead, tell me what you've always been curious about and I'll make a post about it within the best of my abilities!
Cheers!

Glitches, Bugs and Exploits
Today I decided to talk to you about glitches, bugs and exploits. I will try to tell you what they are, what could cause them and some examples. For that though, I will need to go a little bit into detail about programming and whatnot, but I'll try to make it understandable for everyone!
I'd also like to thank the person that suggested that I talked about this :P

Only 36 Hours left!
As you may or may not know, I'm a programmer for www.saltypeppergames.com and we're about to release our first game.
We made a kickstarter which is almost over! So check it out and pledge if you can, even $1 is helpful :)
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/saltypeppergames/once-upon-a-runner-a-story-driven-2d-runner/
There it is in its full length so you can see it without trouble :)
We're counting on you!
Cheers!

Web safety and anti-hacking tips
Internet security has been more and more efficient as time goes by. Vulnerabilities get patched, exploits fixed, bugs swatted, etc. Which is why in the world of hacking, Social Engineering (which is the ability to manipulate the user into doing exactly what the "hackers" want) has become more and more useful and some times the easiest and best way to steal data/account details/infect users with viruses/etc.
So here are a few tips for maintaining web security and a virus free computer without delving too much into the clichés such as "Having a different password for each site" and changing it regularly.

Tips on achieving greatness and knowledge while being motivated
Ok first of all I apologize for the confusing title.
I'm writing this to share with you something I learned by myself back when I was learning how to make an avoider game by reading tutorials (which turned into Sad Mary by the way, which I probably won't continue updating even though it's a mess).
And all this information I'm about to give you will, hopefully, make it easier for you to learn how to program or even program itself, as well as many other life-related activities that this could apply to, but I'll stick to programming since it's what made me realize this.
NOTE: Even though the examples I'm about to give are programming-related (mostly), this works with pretty much everything you encounter in life, so don't be discouraged if you don't like typing random strings of letters and symbols.

Learning how to program. Do it and don't give up!
Unless you don't really use technologies at all (which in that case you wouldn't even be reading this), learning how program will probably help you immensely!
And I'm not even talking about the current demand for programmers (but if you are looking for a job of course that might help).
And I'm not even talking about the current demand for programmers (but if you are looking for a job of course that might help).
The best part about programming is improvisation
That's right, programming requires a lot of creativity and active imagination, you can always come up with new ways to do things. Thinking outside the box and in non-conventional ways can help you come up with unique solutions to problems that might arise.
Here's the latest example of that that I had:
